Product Description
The Stompa Next Generation Casa 4 loft bed offers a place to sleep, relax and work. It features a rigid bedframe with sleeping bunk, with a pull out desk and sofa bed below. (NB: Can be set with ladder/desk on either end of the bed - "mirror image" to main picture). The top bunk is accessed via a tubular metal and wood ladder which can be set-up, along with the sofa and desk, on either end of the bed, as required. The bedframe is made from solid Scandinavian pine with white finish, and the header and footer boards are made from modern MDF. The sofa bed is what makes this so special - the comfy sofa, with it's big cushion set, can fold out to a full-sized futon style bed when needed - great for unexpected company. The sofa bed then simply folds back up into a comfortable mini-sofa for relaxing on. There's even a small side table at hand. Some great detail - there's even some hidden storage below the sofa to keep the extra bedding in when not in use. Beneath the bed is a fixed surface with pull out desk below. Ideal for work or study, the desk pulls-out and tucks away neatly as required. Great for putting a computer or a TV on - it has a series of stylishly designed shelves on the end. The underbed shelf adds extra storage above the fixed desk. You also get some hidden storage shelves that are revealed when the desk is pulled out. This bed requires a standard continental single mattress measuring 90 x 200 cm, available separately. NB: It is recommended for all elevated beds that the maximum depth of any mattress for the top bunk is 15 cm.
Dimensions:
- Length: 209 cm. Width: 99 cm / 129 inc. ladder (200 cm when bed and/or desk extended). Height: 184 cm.

If you are looking for precision engineering, luxury log cabin etc - this is not the product for you. It is a reasonable quality, lo-cost, self build kit form, quite large garden shed/summer house. In terms of quality: When it arrives you think it is really flimsy, but when you get all the panel screwed together and the roof on, it is actually quite solid. You won't get the panels perfectly joined, but there are fascia strips provided which covers any imperfections.Cost: I did think about just buying the wood and making a shed myself from scratch, but I was over double the cost when I priced up the walls alone, never mind the floor, roof, windows and door.In terms of construction, its can be a bit fiddly, but just follow the instructions and you'll be okay. Its a bit more of a challenge than IKEA furniture, but not so much that you need a trained carpenter. Some tips: If I were to do it again, I would invest or borrow a good battery powered screwdriver with a spare battery so that you've always got one on charge. A battery drill would be handy as well, it will save dragging cables around. A bob the builder tool belt to hold the drill, screwdriver and screws would also have helped. Spring clamps (I had some) were indispensable when screwing the panels together. There might be some gaps between panels (I had some in the roof - because my base wasn't quite square). I used expanding foam to fill these and it worked okay.Overall: I am quite happy with what I got for the price I
